UK cloud-based capital markets technology outfit Options is opening a new headquarters in Belfast, doubling its workforce in the city to 200 staffers.
Options, which began life in 1993 as a hedge fund technology services provider, has experienced a growth surge since repositioning to provide managed IT and outsourcing services across the full spectrum of capital markets activities.
With over 200 firms using its services globally, since the pivot Options has doubled staff numbers to more than 250 in London, New York and Belfast.
Last year it scored a $100 million investment from New York-based private equity house Bregal Sagemount and is now putting the money to use by going on another hiring spree, increasing its Belfast workforce from 100 to 200.
The new jobs will be in technical support, engineering, cybersecurity, account management, and marketing. The staffers will be housed at a new HQ in central Belfast, which boasts state of the art facilities and will also serve as the global training centre for Options employees.
Danny Moore, COO, Options, says: “As well as providing greater opportunity for Belfast’s dynamic and highly educated workforce, the growth of our Belfast operations will help deliver critical support, sophisticated engineering and secure managed services to Options’ global client base.”
