Travelex Brings Together Retail and Currency Solutions

Travelex, the world’s leading foreign exchange specialist, has today brought together the global retail and Currency Solutions functions to fuel the organisation’s growth strategy. The combined trading operations will be led by Steve O’Donovan, Chief Commercial Officer, who has led the Currency Solutions business since 2008.

This new structure will allow Travelex to harness its full portfolio of products to provide bespoke foreign exchange solutions for customers around the world.

Travelex Currency Solutions has a global reputation as a trusted partner to over 2,000 financial institutions, foreign exchange retailers and central banks around the world, supporting them to fulfil their banknote requirements and enable them to deliver reliable and innovative foreign currency services to their customers.

The retail business includes over 1,200 stores in 30 countries, including all airport operations.

Founded in 1976, Travelex has grown to become the world’s leading specialist provider of foreign exchange, with presence in 30 countries. The Group has built a growing online and mobile foreign exchange platform, across 23 countries, and developed a network of over 1,350 ATMs and 1,200 stores at both on-airport and off-airport locations around the world. It also processes and delivers foreign currency orders for major banks, as well as for travel agencies, hotels and casinos. In addition, the Group sources and distributes large quantities of foreign currency banknotes for customers including central banks and international financial institutions. The Group is also active in the remittances and payments space.
